Everglow Forest Book Fair - FAQs

  • Why does Happy Valley host a book fair? Our annual Book Fair brings the Happy Valley
community together while raising funds to purchase new books for the library and classrooms at
    Happy Valley.
  • How can my child buy books independently at the book fair? Students (1st–5th grade) can
shop during class visits, lunch, or after school starting Nov. 7. We recommend buying a gift card
before then for easy checkout. The Book Fair is cashless! Other forms of electronic payment
options are also accepted when you are shopping with them.
  • Should I buy a gift card for my TK/Kindergarten student? Not necessary—their classes are
not shopping independently during school hours. Our TK and K friends are encouraged to shop
with an adult during Kindergarten and TK shopping hours. See schedule on the front.
  • Does my child need to bring a print out of the gift card to the book fair? Printing your child’s
gift card is optional. Cashiers can access balances electronically.
  • What happens to any remaining balance on my child’s gift card? Gift card balances less than
$5 at the end of the book fair will be considered a donation and will be used to purchase
additional books for classrooms and the library. We encourage you to use up the balance or small
    balances will be donated.
  • What if my child does not have a gift card during their class shopping period? They can
browse and make a wish list to shop later—at Family Night or online.
  • How can I get another copy of the bookmark template? You can print one (linked here) or pick
up an extra copy in the library.
  • How can I buy a book for my child’s teacher or other Happy Valley staff? Teachers and staff
love receiving books! You can support them by purchasing a gift card so they can pick out books
    for their classrooms.
  • Which grades participate in the bookmark contest? K - 5 grade students are all invited to
submit a bookmark in the contest, although participation is optional. TK isn’t officially participating
in the contest, but are still welcome to submit one for display.
  • Is there a larger selection than what’s available in the physical book fair? Yes! You can shop
a broader selection online through the Literati Book Fair store. Simply make sure to select Happy
Valley when prompted so your purchase benefits our school.
  • Can I still support the school and buy books if I can’t make it to the book fair? Absolutely!
All online purchases at the Literati Book Fair will benefit Happy Valley. You can also buy gift cards
for teachers or make a general donation to help fund new classroom books.
