Happy Valley Annual Family Culture Night!

Save the Date: October 15 at 5:00-7:00 PM - join us for our third annual Culture Night as we enjoy music, performances, and a huge family potluck.

Husky families make our school community so special. However your family celebrates, plays, loves, and (most importantly) eats, we welcome you to share and connect in this fun night.

👉 How you can participate:

  • Bring a dish to share at our potluck and share your family culture

  • Host a table of information or hands-on activities for our guests

  • Sign up you or your children to perform a song, dance or traditional skill

  • Volunteer to help prepare and plan this fun night

  • Or simply come enjoy the fun, meet other families, and take a night off from cooking!

Whether it’s your grandmother’s secret family recipe, a favorite snack or a dance, every contribution makes this event special.

FAQ

Event Time: Doors open at 5:00 PM

Parking: Husky and Front will be open for parking. We encourage walking or car pooling if possible.

Potluck Dish and Table Hosts: Arrive by 4:30 PM. Fill out dish description/allergen card (provided at tables). You can also bring any signage or extra info for your food, information signs about your traditions, artifacts, books or other items of interest.

Portions: Bring as much or as little as you'd like to share! Please bring serving utensils. We’ll provide plates, forks, spoons, napkins, and extra drinks.

Food Prep: Buy or make it, but try to bring dishes pre-cut or easy and ready to serve in portions - kids/families will be self serving where possible.

Allergens and food restrictions: we will make every effort to help families identify sensitive ingredients. Potluck hosts: please fill out our allergen cards as accurately as possible. Guests: ask questions, and check in with potluck servers, but please remember that misunderstandings and mistakes happen when it comes to potlucks, so be aware of your own acceptable risk level.

Crock-Pots & Power: Limited power available - please indicate in the sign up form if you need specific supplies or access to power outlets, or if you just want to be situated next to another family’s table. We will get in touch with you to accommodate your needs as best as possible on a first come, first serve basis.

Performers: We will reach out to you separately to arrange for the performance. If you need music, bring a Bluetooth phone to pair.

👉 Visitors - What to Expect:

Food Sampling: Walk around and enjoy potlluck food from all over the world.

Performances: Starting from 6:00 PM

Clean-Up: Please clean up after yourselves and if possible, help with table breakdown at the end.

Volunteers: Helping hands - 3PM setup and 7PM break down helpers are welcome! Let us know on the sign up form if you can help, or show up whenever you can - the more, the merrier.
