LAFAYETTE PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (LPIE)
LPIE is a community-driven fundraising organization that supplements state funding for programs that promote innovation and academic excellence in the public schools of Lafayette. Founded in 1980, LPIE provides a means for parents and community members to invest in their children’s public education. That need has grown from a few thousand dollars a year to a multi-million dollar commitment that helps to maintain rigorous academics and educational opportunities that would otherwise not be possible. In the 2022-23 school year, LPIE funded over $4.1 million to LafSD. This year, to replace state revenue cuts from one-time funding and to address rising costs, LPIE needs to raise $4.5 million to sustain this level of support.
