HAPPY VALLEY’S ANNUAL 4th/5th GRADE MUSICAL 

THE WIZARD OF OZ: YOUTH EDITION
performs in late January/early February!

We are excited to partner with Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette to present The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition.

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.

Weekly rehearsals take place in the Happy Valley Multipurpose Room (MPR) and all performances take place at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette.

Registration will be open Thursday, August 14 at 9 PM PT and close on Friday, August 22 at 9 PM PT.

Tickets for all performances will be on sale in January after Winter Break. Please save the dates below!

TUESDAY CAST REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATES

Weekly rehearsals:

• Tuesdays from 2:42 – 5:30 PM, 9/9/2025 – 1/13/2026
• Exceptions: No class 11/11 (make up rehearsal 11/17), 11/25, 12/23 and 12/30. On 9/23 we will have a supervised lunch and rehearsal from 12:00 – 3:00 PM due to parent/teacher conferences

Technical Rehearsals:

• Tuesday, 1/20/2026 and Tuesday, 1/27/2026 from 4 – 7 PM

Performances:

• Friday, January 30th at 5pm and 7:30 PM
• Sunday, February 1^st at 11 AM 

WEDNESDAY CAST REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATES

Weekly rehearsals:

• Wednesdays from 1:42 – 4:30 PM, 9/10/2025 – 1/14/2026
• Exceptions: No class 11/26, 12/24 and 12/31. On 9/24 we will have a supervised lunch and rehearsal from 12:00 – 3:00 PM due to parent/teacher conferences

Technical Rehearsals:

• Wednesday, 1/21/2026 and Wednesday, 1/28/2026 from 4 – 7 PM

Performances:

• Saturday, January 31st at 11 AM
• Sunday, February 1^st at 4 PM and 6:30 PM

THURSDAY CAST REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATES

Weekly rehearsals:

• Thursdays from 2:42 – 5:30 PM, 9/11/2025 – 1/15/2026
• Exceptions: No class 11/27, 12/25 and 1/1. On 9/25 we will have a supervised lunch and rehearsal from 12:00 – 3:00 PM due to parent/teacher conferences

Technical Rehearsals:

• Thursday, 1/22/2026 and Monday, 1/26/2026 from 4 – 7 PM

Performances:

• Thursday, January 29^th at 6:30pm
• Saturday, January 31^st at 4 PM and 6:30 PM

NEW THIS YEAR

• Each cast will have three performances each instead of two and we will have four Town Hall Teaching Artists working with each cast vs. three. 

THE FINE PRINT

• Performers must commit to the rehearsal schedule as outlined above, technical rehearsals and performances.
• If you have sports practices or other activities on your rehearsal days and need to leave rehearsals early to get to them, please do not sign up for the musical. 
• NO exceptions as it is impossible to stay on schedule when cast members are missing. This is a big commitment.
